Nationally Certified Water Management Innovation: Final Approval for MOTIE's NEP Certification

Continuous automatic turbidity measurement is a critical indicator for water quality management in water treatment plants and facilities. THE WAVE TALK has set a new technological milestone in this market, which has long relied on expensive foreign equipment. Our continuous automatic turbidity meter for water treatment plants,

the 'TSC-50/IQ-50', has officially received the 'NEP (New Excellent Product)' certification from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR).

The NEP certification is a state-guaranteed system that officially endorses products developed for the first time in Korea or those that have innovatively improved existing technologies to secure high performance and economic efficiency. Certified products are subject to strict technological and marketability evaluations, which include making them eligible for mandatory purchase by public institutions. Following the acquisition of the Ministry of Environment's Type Approval (No. DWMS-TM-2025-6), THE WAVE TALK has now passed the NEP certification, securing a solid foothold for expanding into the public infrastructure market.

Korea's First Laser-Based Continuous Turbidity Meter: What Makes It Different?

The TSC-50/IQ-50 is Korea's first laser-based turbidity meter for water treatment plants, overcoming chronic on-site challenges through our proprietary technology. During the NEP evaluation process, the following exceptional innovations were highly praised:

  • Eliminating Measurement Errors via Proprietary Image Analysis Algorithms: Fine bubbles, irregular water flow (pulsation), and sensor fouling have chronically hindered precise measurements. The TSC-50/IQ-50 applies a proprietary image analysis and processing algorithm to effectively control these external interferences. This minimizes the measurement error to within 6% and ensures uncompromised data reliability even during 24 hours  continuous operation.

  • Groundbreaking Reduction in OPEX: By fundamentally blocking the factors that cause malfunctions and sensor fouling, the manual inspection and cleaning cycle for site managers has been drastically reduced to roughly 'once every two years' compared to existing foreign equipment. This directly translates into substantially improved operational efficiency and reduced public operating costs.

  • Minimizing Installation Costs and Space Constraints: The system can be installed without the need for additional bulky equipment, such as large water tanks or constant-speed pumps, which were previously essential to suppress bubbles and pulsation. This eliminates unnecessary construction costs and offers flexible spatial efficiency, even in cramped on-site environments.

Achieving Over 90% Parts Localization to Strengthen Korea's Water Industry

THE WAVE TALK serves as a new alternative for facilities that have long struggled with the frequent recalibrations and slow part supplies associated with foreign equipment. By achieving a parts localization rate of over 90%, this product reasonably lowers the initial adoption cost compared to foreign alternatives. Furthermore, our domestic production lines guarantee rapid part supply and enhanced maintenance convenience.

The TSC-50/IQ-50 has already proven its exceptional effectiveness and commercial viability in actual water treatment plants by winning the 'Grand Prize' at the K-eco (Korea Environment Corporation) Mutual Cooperation Outstanding Project Competition. Earning the NEP certification signifies the arrival of an innovative water monitoring alternative that local governments and public institutions can adopt with complete confidence. THE WAVE TALK will continue to lead the advancement of Korea's water management infrastructure through our proprietary laser-based turbidity meters.
